These graves were moved from the original cemetery that was a short
distance northwest of the present site

In memory of Capt. L. D. PRESCOTT
died on the 24th June 1900 in the
64th year of his age.
Confederate Veteran commanded the
last organized Company of Confederates
to surrender. Co. A. Second Louisiana
Cavalry at the close of the Civil War.
