Ether Shepley, the father of George Foster Shepley, was a lawyer, a Maine state representative in 1819, U. S. District Attorney for Maine, U. S. Senator from Maine, and Chief Justice of the Maine Supreme Court.  Anne Foster is the mother of George Foster Shepley.  This monument is located near George Foster Shepley's monument.
