1867 - 1868 Benjamin Franklin Flanders' other children: Daughter Mary Brown Flanders, the third child, died April 11, 1929 at about age 63. She was never married and lived for a long time with her younger brother Benjamin and his family. Her burial location is not yet known. Son Joseph Alva Flanders, the fourth child, at age 34 was removed from New Orleans, where he was a clerk, and placed in the Insane Asylum at Jackson in 1893 for 'mania'. He died there on October 7, 1942 at about age 82. It is believed that he is buried there as well. Son Rufus John Flanders, the sixth and last child, died in 1869 at about 3 years old. His burial location is unknown. It may have been at the Ben Alva Plantation family home in Youngsville. No evidence of a grave site has been found on the property.
